I thought I might take a little time out to show a view of the sky last night, as it was relatively clear, I took my camera and started to look at the stars with an app on my iPhone called “SkyView”
The app shows the planets from their system its not a view of the actual planets, but a representation. The app allows me to take a screen shot, and thats todays photo, the view from earth looking at the moon, with Jupiter in the background.
I also use a website https://www.theplanetstoday.com/index.html to show the location of the planets and their orbits. just to put the view I have taken into context. I took the screen grab late last night and the location this morning, but it makes little difference to the location of Jupiter the moon and the view fron Earth.
Is this important to Construction, hell no, its just a school boy hobby I have kept for 55 years., but it is a small exercise in communication. I have this same view and some extra notes on a page within my Mac Obsidian file, plus a colection of hashtags.
As you know I use Google Docs to draft notes which I copy transfer to Apple Notes, , but I also have two Obsidian accounts, My Mac, and a more specific Linux Obsidian, for research notes. Overkill probably, but its again an exercise in research methods,
I used to have a telescope to do all of this viewing, can you imagine the thrill of finding Satern in the sky and seeing the rings for the first time. On leaving the 6th form I left behind a block of glass I was trying make into a reflecting telescope rubbing it almost every night on a mould with jewlers rouge.
So get out and view the sky, its a facinating view, some days I can view three or four planets all in a line.
